Hi guys,
just wondering why the most recent version of blog & widget module uses private static $db rather than public? Are all objects moving towards this?

EDIT: is this just to stop people using the master branches? I notice the other branches don't appear to have this.

Sorry if it's been answered before, a quick Google and glance on the forums didn't reveal the answer.

It's an API change for 3.1, All objects properties are moving towards private.
