upload pdf from within blog entry?

2 June 2009 at 10:30pm
Hi,
im looking for a way to modify / extend blog module, so that it allows to perform the following task:- client logs in to CMS,
- client chooses to add a new blog entry to one of the existing blog holders ( i have three),
- client types in the blog post,
- client uploads pdf document(s) to accompany the blog entry and publishes it,
- viewers of website can read the blog and download the attached pdf documentscurrently, my client would have to first go to Files&Images section, upload the pdf and then, use the linking to existing document from within CMS, when posting a blog entry.
would you have any suggestions on how to do it? i reckon there must be a class to extend blogholder, as i prefer not to modify the blog module itself (to be able to upgrade to newer versions of module later).
cheers,
qlex
