Remove tags from blog summaries?

I'm having pretty good luck customizing the blog, but I hit a wall trying to edit the info displayed in my blog summaries.
I'm a total PHP novice, but it seems like BlogSummary.ss controls the little blog chunks on the landing page? But when I make changes to the code, the page stays the same. I commented the tags out of BlogEntry and it worked like expected, so I was hoping BlogSummary would work the same way. Am I looking in the wrong place? Waaaaaaah.

hey, if anyone's interested, i figured it out. i was rebuilding the database by going to dev/build, but it was only rebuilding the main site, not the blog. when i added ?flush=1 to the blog url, it rebuilt and showed all my changes.
