Hello

i am planing to pubilsh a lot of Content on with the Blog, because i am building a Community.

I am interessted what you would prefere, how to manage all the new Pages inside the Blog.
Would you handle it within the SiteTree?

Or are there other Solutions?

Would be happy for some Feedback,
thanks!

The SiteTree isn't that useful when working with very large amounts of pages.

I think Silverstripe (the company) uses the model-admin to handle these situations. You could try that ?

Na-ah...

You use the model-admin interface to create you blog-entries. It can do so pretty much out of the box.

Check out the documentation @ http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=modeladmin

I haven't got the time to figure it out at this moment. Basically , the idea is to make the "blogentry" class managable by the model-admin.

That is basically it. ;)

ModelAdmin doesn't let you do any publication/staging functionality, so this will be a bit tricky to replicate.
Your best bet is probably the "Dynamic Grouping" recipe: http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=recipes:customising-the-hierarchy&s=group%20tree - Its not pretty, but does the job...

We're aware of the problem (running into it on silverstripe.com/blog ourselves), but its not an easy fix.

Please leave your thoughts and patches at the existing discussion for this problem:
