Hi All,

I haven't seen this posted elsewhere, so apologies if it is. I have some fields that appear in the cms for every page template, I don't however want them to appear on the blog pages. I also want to disable commenting by default.

Anyone got any ideas how can I do this without editing the code files in the blog folder?

Cheers in advance,

Mo

Hi, You have to extend the BlogEntry content type with you own one.

If I did that, would I still be allowed to add that page as a child of the blog holder in the CMS?

You will have to decorate the blogentry page type to override it - http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=dataobjectdecorator
