General Blog Issues

I'm new to the forum, so please let me know if this is the appropriate place for this post or if there is a better outlet:
1) I've noticed that the $LinkingMode doesn't work on the Archive or Tag widgets. Is there a way to highlight the year or tag I'm currently viewing the sidebar navigation?
2) The LandingPageFreshness variables doesn't seem to be used anywhere by default. The default template for BlogHolder just calls BlogEntries, which doesn't use it.
3) ArchiveWidget.ss hardcodes commas between the dates (line 16). This is a UI function better suited to styling with CSS. If you want them in a regular list you have to remove this code.
Although these are probably minor future enhancement requests, I would like to know if anyone has found a way to mimic the $LinkingMode functionality in the Blog Sidebar.

It would be great if you could file your findings as tickets using this tracker.
