SilverStripe Platform - September Release

We have just released some new features to the SilverStripe Platform. We are always improving the product so that over time the SilverStripe Platform continues to add value for your SilverStripe CMS website.

Infrastructure choice

Site developers will now be able to choose when to upgrade to new infrastructure versions. This month we have included the option to upgrade to PHP 5.6 and the Debian 'Jessie' Linux distribution for SilverStripe Platform sites. PHP 5.6 brings speed improvements as well as new features for your site developers. Read more about the new infrastructure configuration.

We use the SilverStripe Platform to run our own and websites too so was nice to showcase it.

SilverStripe hosts Auckland Women in Tech Panel

As part of our support for the Summer of Tech internship programme SilverStripe are hosting a Women in Tech panel tonight in at GridAKL in Auckland. The panel will be growing and enhancing a career with four accomplished women making their mark in New Zealand’s tech industry sharing their insights. This is not an exclusive “women only” event, men are also warmly welcome, but we want to provide a technology-focused event women are excited to attend, and where they won’t be in the minority.

Taking our passions offline

Earlier this month, a group of eight keen SilverStripers and their families did something different...well, different for most of us. Rather than hanging out at a local craft beer bar shooting the breeze, we joined Peter Reimann and volunteers from the Trelissick Park Group on their monthly working bee. Our afternoon mission — to plant 52 native trees and remove as much Tradiscantia (a.k.a “Wandering Willie”) as we can.

Within Region: How this website will offer targeted content

Last week saw the relaunch of, the once beleaguered face of our commercial services. To the fanfare and appreciation of our colleagues, customers, and community members, the aptly nicknamed “dot com” now has a more streamlined information architecture and a look-and-feel that is congruous to the much lauded site. Excitement and enthusiasm are pumping through the company corridors like cheap booze at a casino, and we’re primed to take things further.
