Revealing 11 quests for StripeCon 2016

What's in StripeCon's store to help you tame your Silver dragon?

Read post

We have finalised the list of speakers and talks for StripeCon 2016 in the quest to help you tame your SilverStripe — the Silver dragon. This will guarantee to upskill and uplift you, helping you conquer this digital beast lurking beneath the Ljubljana Castle.

If you are wondering what I’m talking about, then you’ve probably missed the announcement of StripeCon 2016 — the SilverStripe European conference run by the community for the community that is dedicated to SilverStripe Framework/CMS.

During this 2-day journey, there will be 11 quests for developer training, publishing skill mastering, design polishing, debugging, case studies and more.

  • SilverStripe 4: SilverStripe CEO, Sam Minnée, will guide you in the first quest for the ultimate SilverStripe 4. After years of research and development, SilverStripe 4 alpha-1 was released in May 2016. How did that come about and what do we have in store for future releases of SilverStripe 4? Sam will be there to answer these questions and any others that you may have.

  • E-commerce: This is always one of the favourite topics for the community. This year, Roman Schmid, an independent game/web developer from Switzerland will direct your journey around SilverShop while Ramon Kupper of pixeltricks GmbH will help you navigate your way through SilverCart. Ines Panker of Innovatif will also give you some best practice lessons in developing an e-shop.

  • Case studies: Developers Guy Watson and Michael Caruana from Internetrix will share the key challenges and learnings of using SilverStripe in a multi-country environment after 10 months working with Better Hotel Room to launch a new hotel booking website. Herbert Cuba Garcia of Kreationsbyrån will present a case study of using SilverStripe in Sweden. And Dario Rigolin of Comperio will be showcasing the Library Portal, the next generation’s online public access catalog that is built on SilverStripe.

  • There will also be more tech talks from Lukas Erni and Werner Krauß on debugging SilverStripe, and Derk Gortemaker of Twisted Bytes on System Administration and all the things that come with it.

Ready to embark on this epic journey?

The full schedule is published on the StripeCon 2016 website.

If you haven’t signed up to attend this event, please reserve your seat before they are gone. Regular ticket price is available until 1 October only, so get in quickly!

A special thanks to all our sponsors, speakers and all community members who have made this event possible.

  • @Tim LOL you are right...to a certain extent. Finding female speakers is harder than debugging :) However, we did manage to get one special female speaker: Ines Panker from Innovatif. And there will be a few female attendees who will join our lightning talk sessions. In short, there is still lots of hope :)

  • You do realize the way this conference is being promoted screams "women not welcome"?
