Wednesday night's meetup was a great success. Cam gave a lot of great insight about how we can look after our community, and Stephen gave us some useful tips about how to keep your SilverStripe sites secure. Alongside the presentations, it was a good time to re-connect with other local SilverStripers.

Community member Cam Findlay presented some of the outcomes from his last community talk and brainstorm session back in 2012, around how we can build bridges between the different levels of participation in the wider SilverStripe Developer Community.

Following this, Cam presented a case study about how SilverStripe CMS was used to successfully to overhaul eboss.co.nz - one of New Zealnd's largest online architectural specification websites.

SilverStripe's new in-house SilverStripe support ninja Stephen Shkardoon spoke about how you can write secure SilverStripe code. Stephen covered possible ways that vulnerabilities can be introduced, how they could affect you, and what you can do to prevent them. Hard core stuff!

We've been getting more interest in our meetups lately, so we'll be looking for a larger venue next time! If anyone has recommendations for a 50-person venue in Wellington city, please let us know. If there’s something you’d like to hear or speak about at our next meetup, get in touch through the comments, via Twitter and Facebook, or email sam@silverstripe.com. We’d love to hear what you've been up to with SilverStripe. If you haven't already, join our meetup.com group for regular updates.
