Hi all,

Just getting into SilverStripe and have implemented the Lucene Search module. I can return search results from HTML, .txt, .docx and .xlsx files. However I am unable to retrieve anything within a .doc or .xls files. So it seems it only works with office documents that are Office 97 versions?
Is anyone able to confirm this?

FYI - I'm using SilverStripe 2.4 on Windows using MSSQL using Lucene 0.3.3.

TIA

Hi there,

Apologies, I only saw this thread now.

The 0.3.3 release indeed only scanned post Office 97 documents, unless you were on Linux and had the 'catdoc' utility suite installed, which was an experimental feature.

I've just released 0.4, which has instructions on setting up support for older Office documents.

HTH!
