Newsletter module - attach PDF

I am working on a site for my children's school and they want the ability to email out their newsletters.

Their newsletter's are in pdf format.

I have tried the newsletter module but it does not allow attachments and all the posts I have googled on this matter seem to be incomplete of information or successful implementation of this feature.

Does anyone know how to edit the code to allow for pdf attachments and have accomplished this successfully?

I have just started learning SS - and find it a little daunting at the moment.

I eagerly look forward to hearing from you.
