I am putting together a site for a musician and need to be able to display an events list, with the next 5-or-so upcoming events featured on the homepage - like what A-Tech has done with http://www.bassdrop.co.nz. (The upcoming events are listed near the bottom of the page, RH side)

I'm not a php expert by any means, but I'm willing to take a stab at it... the big thing that confuses me is how to designate a start and end date, because future events would have to "expire" to be taken off the top of the list. Perhaps via a cron job?

If anyone has any advice relating to setting this up, or if there is a module for this floating around, please let me know! A-tech's site gave me hope... so I know it's possible!

Hello vcmusic

I suppose that http://www.bassdrop.co.nz has used the blog module.
If you prefer or need additional features, have a look at the tutorial page to learn how to extend your site and build your own modules.
