How to set up children under a blog archive?

Ok, straight to the point. When you get the archived items under a specific blog archive (i.e. all blog entries for a particular month), how do you set it so that it becomes the dates' children? I need this because I'm planning to let the users see what articles are in for a particular month in the archive widget. I believe that this makes my website cleaner and more user-friendly. you probably want to overload the Children() method.
