Is SilverStripe supposed to be installed on the host server, or on the web site manager's PC?

SilverStripe should be installed on the host server.

Being able to install SilverStripe on your PC is only so that you can test SilverStripe out.

In order to allow others to see your website, you will need to install it on a web server that allows public access.

Hope this helps,

Elijah

Thanks for the reply, Elijah. If installing on my PC is only for testing, why don't I see anything at localhost:3000 ?

Sorry, mjjss, I don't why localhost:3000 wouldn't work. I have not used the Windows installer. I'm guessing you need to start the Lighttpd web server somehow?

On Windows, I've always just installed XAMPP and then used the PHP-based installer.
