I was reading a "news" post that stated that no respectable web agency would use open source CMS's because "they can be hacked easily, and thus aren't safe", that got me mad, so i replied defending CMS's and got greeted with the moderator stating that he dares me to name a few "Big consolidated web design companies that use open source CMS", and that's what i intend doing.

jpenaavila,

Glad to see you standing up for open source! As for consolidated web companies using open source, i don't think you have to look any further than SilverStripe (the company) itself. They have used their open source CMS to create several large websites, for example the website for the democratic national convention (http://www.demconvention.com/) and the california womens conference (http://www.californiawomen.org/).

As for the hacking part: this comes a result of poor coding, not of being a open/closed source product.

Djeez, that guy has his head up in the clouds hasn't he?

That guy has to be very busy .... I mean, they are probably working very hard on their own custom built database server , webserver and OS as the moment. Seriously , I would _NEVER_ consider using an open source tool for that. With 3 people , that should be a piece of cake... ;)

Let it go , it isn't worth it ... ;-)

Oh , and Razorfish / the German government / IBM / Google and the likes cannot possibly be right by going full force for Open source now can't they....
