Is there a survey module? Looking for one than can tabulate response statistics as well as function in an e-learning role to administer tests. Lacking an existing module any suggestions for a substitute solution?

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution to this question?

My company could use survey capabilities as well. Ideally, it is a Silverstripe module. In fact, I'm interested in sponsoring Survey Module development. If anyone is interested, please contact me at:

silverstripesurvey@gmail.com

Or post to this thread.

At this point, I'm trying to determine if makes sense to write from scratch or integrate an existing survey engine into Silverstripe as a module.

I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

Thanks,
Todd

I would be interested in hearing about everybody's requirements from a survey module to see what kind of cross-over there is.

One question I have in particular: is it necessary for non-developers to be able to put together surveys, or would it be acceptable to require that surveys are constructed from Form and FormField object, much like you do when you define getCMSFields()?

Because of the complexities of interrelated fields when you are building surveys, I suspect that it would be quite time-consuming to build a survey editor targeted at non-developers. It might be best to leave that feature until after an initial survey implementation was developed.

Are people able to post their requirements to this thread?

My requirements would be for CMS users (Non-developers) to create surveys.

We have a request to quote on this functionality on a site currently

Blackdog-
Development time, money and an open mind to collaborating with other people. If you have something in mind, let me know!?

Blackdog and Sam-
In regards to requirements, it might be interesting to consider a survey module developed greenfield vs. integrating an existing open source survey engine? For example, integrate LimeSurvey? http://www.limesurvey.org

This is not a suggestion, but rather an example for potential discussion.

Thoughts?
