Problem with some non-ASCII characters

When entering text in CMS some letters (ie: ä, ë, ó) are changed into entities &xxxx;.

Try this example:
"ąäeęëoóöôśźń"
it will be changed into:
"Ä…äeÄ™ëoóöôśźń"

This is serious bug - anyone knows anything about it?
We're living in the unicode era anyway...
