I'm building a site that needs additional fields added to the CMS. Until now my main requirement has been an editable sidebar. However I need to learn more about this so am working through the following tutorial:

http://doc.silverstripe.org/framework/en/tutorials/2-extending-a-basic-site/

All seems to make sense until I go to do a /dev/build/ at which point the DB stalls. I've put site into dev mode but am getting no feedback. I'm using the lates build of SS (3.1.6) and am wondering if something has become deprecated which is causing the problem. Any thoughts?

Do you get any output from dev/build? Or just a white screen? Did you enable dev mode - that might give you some error output. Might just be some typo in your code, maybe post it?
