Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to post this - I am new with silverstripe and this site, so please bear with me.

I have been trying to setup an image gallery, and have installed dataobject_manager, image_gallery, and uploadify (from different sources, finally doing a svn checkout from http://carlinowebdesign.svn.beanstalkapp.com/modules/trunk/ ), by copying all three dirs into my silverstripe root-dir and running /dev/build, followed by flushing the cache.
I think that setting up a gallery would then comprise the following steps:
- create a new image gallery page
- create a new album
- upload photos into that album
It is the third step I cannot achieve - the dialogue looks strange, the upload button is hidden behind the entry field for the search path - this not only happens on my installation (ubuntu server, win7/current FF, also IE8 and GC), but also when I try the same with http://dataobjectmanager.carlinowebdesign.com/admin/cms/ - I am unable to upload photos using that dialogue. I also don't succeed in viewing photos I uploaded via the files&images tab - I am stumped.

Is there a problem with my assumptions? Or should this work like that and there is a bug somewhere?

I'd be happy for any input in that matter, and willing to invest some time to get that problem resolved.

TIA for all time with this, with kind regards from Germany,

tobi :)

Hi UC,

thx for the quick reply - yes, see at http://www.flickr.com/photos/43483529@N02/5366023119/ - I hope that the German install is no problem...

Any idea what I can do?

TIA, tobi

Try updating your SVN for DataObjectManager?

Hi all,

I did re-checkout just now, by doing
svn checkout http://carlinowebdesign.svn.beanstalkapp.com/modules/trunk/dataobject_manager (it says it checked out rev 536) in my install-dir, then deleted the current dataobject_manager-directory in my SS root-dir, copied the new one there, called http://path.to.machine/silverstriperoot/dev/build, (it said everything went fine), and, for good measure, called http://path.to.machine/silverstriperoot/?flush=1 after that.
Result is still the same, the "add images"-dialogue is still like the screenshot linked above.
Anything else I can do? If it helps and does not intrude too much, I can chat, mail, or call (to landline #) without any problem, or set up a screensharing session - just sayin...
TIA for your time, greets, tobi :)

Sorry.. I meant ImageGallery, not DOM. There should be an update to imagegallerymanager_popup.js in the latest version...

Hi UC,

cool, works now, thx! :) I'll dig through your blog some more to get more familiar with how this works, thx for your work on this!

Next, I'll try to put a carousel into a page which would be fed from an album - if anyone has any ideas on this, maybe together with a recommendation on a non-flash carousel showing, as a horizontal slider, multiple images (e.g. http://css-tricks.com/examples/MovingBoxes/ does a lot of what I want - I don't need the zooming, though...) - I am all ears! :)

UC, again thx for the quick replies, it is very much appreciated! :)

Greets from Germany, tobi... :)
