Hi

Here's a dome-scratcher for you...

Site: ugly. old. but built with SS.
client: wants no change to design (read:cannot afford it) but wants a gallery implemented. So i upgrade to SS 2.4.5 and try to install UC's Gallery.

I installed the 3 necessary modules, but when I login to the CMS and add a gallery page, the albums and photo's tabs are all brokenish, the pop-ups are not popping. see below.

I have redownloaded the modules and reinstalled them still the same.

To be clear, i can add the pics and they appear... so technically it works, but the UI is messed up.

Thoughts?

Thanks Guys.

Make sure you've installed the modules in directories named "dataobject_manager" and "image_gallery"

Anything different and the CSS and JS will 404.

Thanks for getting back to me UC.

The issue is just like you describe... firebug tells me DOM CSS and JS are missing. I edited the folder names and reinstalled... However the problem persists... any other thoughts?

For the sake of disclosing all symptoms, I have also noticed that I cannot click the image gallery page in the site tree and go there, I have to click on it then refresh the page to get to it for some reason...

Thanks in advance.

I was going nuts trying to get the dataobject_manager js and css loaded on a site I just built. Worked on my local copy but not the live site. Everything was named appropriately and in the right place but no matter what I tried I got a 404 error when trying to access those documents. In the end I simply renamed 'dataobject_manager' to 'dataobject_managerx', created a new 'dataobject_manager' folder next to it and moved all the files in to it and somehow it started working. Some sort of quirk on the hosting/file-structure side of things. Maybe it's the same for you.

I also had this problem using the DataObject Manager downlaoded from GitHub (unclecheese-DataObjectManager-8808fda.tar.gz) i then fell back to a previous version of the module i had been using and the interface was then working

Do you have an older copy of the module ?

i had no UI styling too, i fixed it by adding data object manager & uploadify then DEV/BUILD
then add image_gallery and DEV/BUILD again. that seemed to fix it.

still having other issues though!

latest version of image_gallery and ss 2.4.5
it all works fine locally, but as soon as i upload i have problems.

clicking "create image gallery page" does nothing. (emails an error to me saying: Error: Uncaught Exception: Cannot move /var/www/vhosts/cafemusicstudios.com/httpdocs/assets/image-gallery/NewImageGalleryPage-8/ to /var/www/vhosts/cafemusicstudios.com/httpdocs/assets/image-gallery/NewImageGalleryPage-10/
At line 422 in /var/www/vhosts/cafemusicstudios.com/httpdocs/sapphire/filesystem/File.php )
if i refresh, the page appears, but if i try and upload an image it throws up a server error. and emails me a very similar error message to the one above.

looks like permission issues with image_gallery creating directories?
but my whole assets directory is 777.
AND ive even tried manually creating the directories myself and giving them all 777 but it still fails.

any help?!
