Guys

Is there any way to have threaded view (or better still, threaded/flat user switchable) in this forum i.e

Topic 1
re Topic 1 But Different
re re Topic 1 But Different
re re re Topic 1 But Different Again
Re Topic 1
Re Topic 1

I am sure you get the idea but many who have not used threaded forums don't know what threaded people are on about. The view is not chronological but thread based - in a directory-like heirarchy based on parent topic. Very good for tracking complex threads that last a long time.

Short answer is no. We *did* have alpha code for this in forum 0.1 but was stripped out of 0.2. One of the major annoyances of the current forum system is it has no idea of a 'thread' a thread in this forum is just a linked lists of posts So the 'thread' is a post with a parent ID of 0 (top rung of the linked list). This will be refactored in the next release of the forum (see http://open.silverstripe.com/ticket/4024). When we do that it will make doing something like threading a heck of alot easier.
