Hi,

I'm a complete newbie but just set up my first blog http://www.buyingyogamats.com/ using Wordpress. I'm looking for an alternative. Is Silverstripe any better?

SS could always be a Good Choice. It more likely to be a developers' tool for filling lots of cool functions with awesome logical inseperating the UI and functions Logical..
You will love it, when you give a try.
Cheers.

Thanks Alex,

But you've just blown my mind with Jargon. Perhaps i'd better stick with Wordpress until I develop a programming brain :-)

You could always rewrite WP in SS ;-)

It would use a quarter the lines of code, and be ten times more secure, naturally.

I say that only half in jest. WP has a major following, and people love he admin interface. Personally I find the front-end structure of the content very restrictive. SS could provide a much better alternative with an admin interface just as good. That wouldn't be a project for a beginner though.
