Does SiteConfig theme replace set_theme?

Via the new 2.4.0 site config panel (and stored in new SiteConfig table) there is a Theme setting. Does this override or make redundant the SSViewer::set_theme('blackcandy'); value in /mysite/_config.php ?

It can do if you want. However the SiteConfig panel as a (use default) option which is the one you define with set_theme().
