this for the new project...
http://www.silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/261404?start=0#post292672
(it is really as easy as selecting the c wamp www *sitefolder*, then finish)

this to ensure the debug is setup correctly... it is has a wizard to cut & paste your phpinfo to and it recommends the line (*)... then add the other stuff (as it prompts you to in netbeans)
http://www.silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/261404?start=8

zend_extension = c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext\php_xdebug-2.1.0-5.3-vc6.dll*
xdebug.remote_enable=on
xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp
xdebug.remote_host=localhost
xdebug.remote_port=9000

Just read that again, the option I choose is (2) PHP app with existing sources - because this is local - I haven't ventured into using this for remote sites yet - just wamp server locally

Xdebug installed: Only as PHP extension!

Warning: You seem to have Xdebug loaded as a normal PHP extension only. This will cause odd issues

Do you have similar warning??

hmmm I think one of our developers may have mentioned that (when I *cough* suggested netbeans) but it certainly didn't stop the debugging working effortlessly...
