I've noticed I have to switch a number of tables to MyISAM to support search, what is the impact of this in terms of the CMS?
The site this is for gets about 30k - 40k uniques a month.

If I have to implement a fulltext indexing solution like Solr, is there a good comparison somewhere of the various benefits between them - like Solr vs ElasticSearch etc (as it relates to SS)?

By upgrading to MySQL 5.6.19 which supports fulltext in InnoDB tables the dev/build has finished without errors.
