Hi,
I tried to install the 2.3.6. stable Version of SilverStripe onto a Webserver hosted by 1&1 Germany.
I FTPed the folder and files in the tar.gz to the destination.
started the www.homepage.bla/install.php and was faced with the error message that .htaccess file is missing and jsparty folder.
Because in the tar.gz I got from the Hompage are not the file neither the folder I copied the one belonging to the 2.3.5
and reloaded. All error messages disappeared and I could install the SS.
All seems fine till I tried to logon onto the CMS.
If I follow www.homepage.bla/admin/ link, I get to www.homepage.bla/Security/login with following message in return:

[Warning] None of these templates can be found: MemberLoginForm.ss, Form.ss
GET /homepage/Security/login

Line 175 in /xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/sapphire/core/SSViewer.php

Any advice?
And yes, the missing files are not in the 2.3.6 tar.gz file

Thanks,
Michael

Just downloaded the http://silverstripe.org/assets/downloads/SilverStripe-v2.3.6.tar.gz, the jsparty folder is there, as well as .htaccess file. Form.ss is also in place. Where did you download from? Maybe you didn't copy the .htaccess as it is a hidden file on some of the systems?

Hello,
thanks a lot for the fast reply
I downloaded direckly from
http://www.silverstripe.org/stable-download/

Well I will try again.

EDIT:
I just downloaded from there again and same problem.
My winrar also gives a "File is corrupt" message but seems to finish correctly.
Same when I use your link... very strange.

EDIT2:
To make it short... Bug seems to be with the WinRAR I used.
Different (de)packing software, all Files there!

Great to hear. The file has to go so far (NZ->Germany) that maybe it got soaked in the underwater pipe and lost some bits :)

LOL
It is even more wired, me sitting in Osaka doing things on a server in Germany so (NZ->JP->GER) well give me a penny for every mile ;)

But thanks again, your hint really helped. Because even from your link the File seemed not complete.
One link with bad tar.gz can be... 2 links not so likely. :)

Hi i'm installing ss2.3.6 in wVista, with wamp and we have the next problem:
Friendly URLs are not working. This is most likely because mod_rewrite isn't configuredcorrectly on your site. Please check the following things in your Apache configuration; you may need to get your web host or server administrator to do this for you:
mod_rewrite is enabled
AllowOverride All is set for your directory
We have enabled mod_rewrite in httpd.conf
I need some help please

Hi!

You can easily enable mod_rewrite by clicking on the WAMP icon, then Apache > Apache modules > rewrite_module.

Hope it helps,
Juan

Thanks but is not the solution.
I have enable it: WAMP icon, Apache > Apache modules > rewrite_module. in windows XP sp3 run correctly but in windows vista home premium, service pack 2 the problem is:
Friendly URLs are not working. This is most likely because mod_rewrite isn't configuredcorrectly on your site. Please check the following things in your Apache configuration; you may need to get your web host or server administrator to do this for you:
mod_rewrite is enabled----> is correctly enabled and i think that is not the problem
AllowOverride All is set for your directory
