I had a working SS site under Sitevalley shared server infrastructure. Because of performance problems I had the site completely migrated to a new virtual server by Sitevalley. The OS is Centos 5.5.

The site first didn't work because there were wrong permissions on the cache directory which I fixed. But now we are unable to upload files in the CMS. We try to upload a file and after a while get a dialogue box that says File is Not a Valid upload.

The file exists and it's a valid type (tried jpg, png, doc and bmp). The site runs on the user apache and I changed ownership of the assets folder to be apache and 755 so it shouldn't be a permission error. What else could be wrong?

I am able to upload files via FTP but that isn't very friendly for the end user.

Thanks for any hints
