Upload a fresh installation of SilverStripe as per http://doc.silverstripe.org/doku.php?id=installation-on-webserver, try to install and let me know where you get to. Sorry, just not enough information otherwise.

ok, I uploaded the files to the public_html folder, now I have got yesterdays and todays version in it. And still nothing happens ... again! (yes, computer is on, i am freezing and tired as well...); I flushed the page, still no difference, no new exiting screen....

when I delete the index file, there is again that "forbidden" message, so I will put the index file back for the time beeing.

I can´t check this out in the next days or so. Thank you so far and have a good day!

I suspect we're missing something really basic. How do you have two copies in your public_html folder? I would expect the new one to overwrite the old.

I think you'll need to detail exactly what steps you have taken.. What does your file tree look like, where have you put files, etc. Because if you don't even get the installation screen when you upload SilverStripe, there is something really basic missing.

Hi Hamish,

what I did in the last days was uninstalling silvertsripe, wamp etc and reinstall the version 2.3.0. I followed exactly the tutorial for the install progress. I realised the contact-form is now an extra module and is even with the best help not working in my installation, but this is discussed elsewhere.

So I redid all my stuff in the Silverstripe Programm 2.3.0, deleted the old folders from the server and uploaded the whole new folder to the public_html - folder on the Hetzner-server. They still need an index.htm, home.htm or so in this folder to run a website. So there are some files in as mentioned above.

I think I made all changes as requested, but I am pretty sure that this is not enough, especially as you developers sometimes asume that the users are as ood in programming as you and are able to mindread or something.

Anyway, you will find the filetree of the public_htm in the attached file. Any files got a "-" in front, folders are unmarked.

I really hope you find something...

Thanks,

Ok, as it stands, you've installed it at /Silverstripe-2.3.0/

This means that to go to your silverstripe site, you need to go to the url: http://yoursitedomain.com/Silverstripe-2.3.0/

If you want it to appear in your site root (ie, http://yoursitedomain.com/) you will have to copy everything out of the Silverstripe-2.3.0
folder and in to the root folder.

Remove the index.htm, images and index-files folders from your website root - you don't need them to run the website.
