admin panel not loading

Hi all,

I installed SS on an domainfactory account. Unfortunately the admin panel is not loading, well actually it is loading but that's it ;-)
I searched the forum allready for a solution but couldn't really get ahead.
I guess the problem is related to the mod_rewrite as the installer said it couldn't detect apache and/or whether mod_rewrite is enabled.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this in a step by step way of testing?

'lo viper,

I had this issue as well.. it nearly convinced me to abandon SS.
1) browse to <YourServer And Path to SS>rewritetest.php
2) You should see something similar to:
"mod_rewrite is working! I will now try and direct you to home/successfullyinstalled to confirm that the installation was successful. "
shortly before it redirects you to your home page.
--if not.. then resolve your rewrite issues.
