Jambo Africa Tourism Organization Network

by jatonetkenya

Jambo Africa Tourism Organisation Network whose acronym name Jatonet is a Community Based Organization (CBO) in Western Kenya headquartered in Bungoma town addressing four major issues: Eco-tourism, Nature conservancy, Socio-cultural diversity and developing new skills.
Jatonet operations are located in the community where poverty is widespread and options for economic diversification are limited. Local communities live predominantly subsistence livelihoods, which tend to exacerbate environmental degradation and dwindling natural resources in the rural communities of Western Kenya.

Jatonet is focused on reducing poverty through improving livelihoods, distribution of Envirofit Clean Cook stoves, Biolite cook stoves and maximizing positive change within communities surrounding project sites. Our social impact is grounded in the following things: job creation, capacity building, selling of bamboo products, reneweable energy and trainings. We shall give the community opportunities and skills, to help them help themselves to a better future. Once the community has that, improvements to health, education, infrastructure, the environment and women’s empowerment will all shortly follow suit.
