Submitting extensions to SilverStripe Link to this post

    Hi,

this is an idea to improve the submissions for the SilverStripe extensions. Can you implement some notification system to inform the person who submitted the extension to be notified.

Personally this is my experience, I recently submitted some widgets, and a module, and still didnt hear anything about it. So I am not aware of whats going on. And as there is no communication I could not make any updates or anything, I think it is better to implement some system to inform the contributors about their contribution.

    whats your view about this?

    HI Nivanka,

Something simple, like an automated email, seems like a good idea.

Sam - and while your at it could you make it so that theme, module and widget edits + minor updated are just automatically published straight to the site?. Usually after checking the initial version its safe to see them on the right track and sadly me and andy cannot fully test / check the widgets and modules one by one so it would be faster if updates changed the live site. It's great being notified about an update though, its just the approval that takes time
