Hi Silverstripers,

With our industry changing so rapidly i was wondering what your favourite IDE's were going forward into 2014? Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter

I 2nd this question! I have been out of the Silverstripe loop for a little while and am ready to get back in this year! I will add that (in my case) I am interested in software for Windows specifically.

Thanks and good topic!

Thanks for replying theoldlr. I having been using Adobe Dreamweaver for the longest time and have mostly been quite happy with it. I tried using Sublime Text... that also worked quote well...although i must say i did like Dreamweavers ftp features more.

FYI http://www.silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/7116?start=8

I'd still recomend PHPStorm - it's got better since the discussion. And it isn't a close call between PHPStorm and Netbeans... if you have any money to invest then do so, if you really must have free then net beans.

I run on windows (7) and use Nusphere PhpED, i like it, easy to use and navigate around what is quite an extensive set of tools. There is a trial option of 14 days as i remember, also if you buy (which i did) then its worth the small price that you pay as a single home user. again not sure of what i paid but it was around $70 for a 1 year licence and in my opinion well worth it.
