Hi

I created a new member with restricted access rights. All seems to work fine, but the 'save and publish' button is displayed as 'save &amp; publish'.

I know this is only cosmetic, but it doesn't look very profesional!

Thanks

Posted to: Creating a new member problem Show Thread | Post Reply

Works like a charm! Thank you very much. Is it possible to set a rating from the backend? Any idea how to take the data to arrange articles like "5 best-rated articles" or something like that?

Greetz, Elender

Posted to: Rating System in Backend/Frontend Show Thread | Post Reply

Yes. The version 1.0.01 works with Silverstripe 2.3.x ( http://www.silverstripe.org/assets/modules/stable/ssrating-v1.0.01.tar.gz ).

To make compatibility with 2.4.x I made some changes. The functionality is the same.

If you have some questions about the module, leave your comments at http://www.silverstripe.org/all-other-modules/show/280780.

Posted to: Rating System in Backend/Frontend Show Thread | Post Reply

Re: CMS shows changed pages, but they were not touched

I have the same problem - but it's worse than Walter describes...

Whenever I walk through my CMS site tree (of about 120 pages) I always find a few (leaf) pages marked green even though page history of any of them shows that nothing has changed. If I go through and republish each page marked green and then refresh my browser (or use a different browser), a new set of green links appear!

Over the past few months of repeatedly republishing pages, here are a few observations:

Roughly 10-20% of pages need to be republished at any time.

Pages that need republishing are (nearly) always leaf pages (of type "ArticlePage").

Pages in the deepest subtree, tend to need republishing more often than shallower subtrees.

PageID doesn't seem to be an influencing factor.

Unfortuately, this is very frustrating for my content editor as she's forever republishing pages that haven't changed (which is resulting in page histories filling up with unchanged versions).

Anyone got any ideas? PLEASE!

Thanks...Fig

Posted to: CMS shows changed pages, but they were not touched Show Thread | Post Reply

In 2.3 theres no easy way to handle that sort of thing. Have alook at this tutorial for a way you can do it http://doc.silverstripe.org/doku.php?id=recipes:customising-content-in-your-templates.
Template Vars in Page-Content?

Hi SilverStripers,

prolly it a stupid question, but is it possible to make template vars like $URLSegment usable from the backend?

I have a table with 3 columns having a specific image in the headline and footline of the table.

In the template i would use <img src="/hemes/myTheme/img/headline_{$Parent.URLSegment}-A.jpg" /> to load the specifi image. Unluckily the template var is not replaced when used inside Content (using tinyMCE).

Any Ideas how to solve that prob?

Kind regards
Metin

Posted to: Template Vars in Page-Content? Show Thread | Post Reply

I have the same problem: I am using Silverstripe 2.3.6. I want the spellchecker of TinyMCE to check Dutch spelling. Which code do I have to overwrite?
I am a beginner in PHP so I need some strong directions . I tried the soluton above but it didn't work (I probably did something wrong).

My showcase site is located here:
http://www.vauxhallclub.nl/website/site

Posted to: Setting the spell checking language Show Thread | Post Reply

Re: TinyMCE adding STYLES?!

TinyMCE creates clean markup. It just uses and loads the editor.css file from your mysite/css directory. By default, the editor.css also includes typography.css which is where your typography styles (for h1, etc.) are defined.
If you don't want this behavior, just remove the import statement in the editor.css file.

This doesn't create different markup though. It's just influencing the way content is being displayed in the CMS. Usually, it is considered a nice feature when the content is displayed the same way in the editor as it's being shown on the live website.

Posted to: TinyMCE adding STYLES?! Show Thread | Post Reply

I'd like my tinymce to just apply tags so that my clients never screw up the look of a website. I notice when I am applying e.g. a Header tag, it adds the styles of my Header from the CSS file (although I am not sure if it loads from another, different CSS or...).

Is there a way that i disable that, I just need clean markup/tags?

Posted to: TinyMCE adding STYLES?! Show Thread | Post Reply

tiny mce image edit problem

Hi

I am trying to replace the code:

img[class|src|border=0|alt|title|hspace|vspace|width|height|align|onmouseover|onmouseout|name|name]

with

img[class|src|border=0|alt|title|hspace|vspace|width|height|align|onmouseover|onmouseout|name|style]

hoping to get the image positioning to work for my client - and cannot find out where to do this as there is no tinymce config file to edit??

IMAGE EDITING IS CURRENTLY COMPLETELY DISFUNCTIONAL which is a major PROBLEM - it does not remember / publish horizontal, vertical space and border when right click edited and the alignment options do not match the insert options which I can edit through the typography.css, which means I have to delete the picture and reinsert. My clients cannot edit the site easily which is a major concern!!!

I have searched for hours and cannot find a solution. PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLS HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP this is urgent.

MANY THANKS!!!

Posted to: tiny mce image edit problem Show Thread | Post Reply

We had planned on upgrading TinyMCE to the most recent build for the 2.4 beta but ran out of time to fully test so its been delayed. It is possible we might update tinymce sometime for 2.4 otherwise this update will occur when we migrate to the jquery build of tinymce for 2.5.

Posted to: When will be a newer version of TinyMCE included? Show Thread | Post Reply

When will be a newer version of TinyMCE included?

A question about the TinyMCE editor:

My users like the TinyMCE editor and its formatting capabilities. Sometimes they have problems formatting their texts and it seems that's because of some bugs in the TinyMCE. I checked the version used in Silverstripe and it seems its over a year old and 13 versions later of TinyMCE. So my question, is there an update planned for a future version of silverstripe?

Regards,
Marcel

Posted to: When will be a newer version of TinyMCE included? Show Thread | Post Reply

Memory exhausted because of access rights

I have searched the forums and found many posts about memory exhaustion but none of them mention access rights. So here goes: when I try to log in to the CMS I get the following error (amounts and filename varies): "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 83 bytes) in /var/silverstripe/sapphire/core/model/DataObject.php on line 2429". This only happens with a user that has the "Access to 'Site Content' (CMSMain)" permission and belongs to a security group that has edit rights to a page with a large amount of subpages. If I give the user full administrative rights or change the edit right to another page everything works fine. If I change the memory limit to 250MB the user can log in but it takes 30 seconds for the admin page to load (profile attached). The problem seems to get worse as the site grows bigger.

The site runs on silverstripe v2.3.3 on a linux server and uses several modules + Translatable for multilingual content.

Hopefully someone can help to resolve this issue (I don't consider upping the memory limit a long-term solution).

// Magnus

Posted to: Memory exhausted because of access rights Show Thread | Post Reply

Admin page failing with ~2000 Pages

Hello,

I'm just a few months into migrating a site for a friend. I have had a large number of pages imported already, but now that I have imported the last few it seems that I've crossed some limit that the admin interface is no longer able to handle. When opening up /admin, I'll get a blank page.

I really don't want to migrate to another CMS because of this, so I am wondering what can be done to give /admin some basic functionality. We don't even use the 'Site Content' tab to edit page content. There is really no reason for the admin page to load all pages as it seems to do. I could imagine making a new page type that does not inherit from SiteTree. What would be the wisest option here?

Thanks in advance,

Lars

Posted to: Admin page failing with ~2000 Pages Show Thread | Post Reply

Tiny MCE content CSS

Hi guys,

I've had a search around for this, and while I've found information none of it seemed to either work or be applicable.

All I want to be able to do is have 'typography.css' and 'layout.css' included in the content editor, Tiny MCE. Now from what i read this should happen by default, and is the intended usage, having these 2 CSS files included in both the content editor and the front end to maintain consistency.

Before I understood this I removed some references to these files thinking i didnt need them, instead favouring my own naming/method for CSS. So the question is how do I get them back in the content editor? I thought they might have been magically included in the content editor when either doing the old style of CSS inclusion in a page type:

Requirements::themedCSS("layout");

or the newer way, <% require themedCSS(hiive) %>

Neither of these seems to have any affect on whats included in to the content editor, so id assume there is a config file or sorts for tiny mce that controls this, I've looked but haven't found anything.

Thanks.

Posted to: Tiny MCE content CSS Show Thread | Post Reply

Hmm, switched to Firefox and am no longer receiving the error. But I could swear that I edited the site with Opera before. I could be mistaken, though.

Still don't understand why Opera, but not Firefox, would generate an error in the code. However, the CMS is not completely functional in Opera, at least not in 2.3.0.

So, yeah, guess I'll try to update soon and see if Opera works any better in 2.3.4.

Posted to: Error when inserting image Show Thread | Post Reply

I'm getting a website error when attempting to insert an image into the content of my site.

It used to work, and I haven't made any code changes since the last time I updated the site content. I'm still using v. 2.3.0, so maybe I should upgrade, but still it's hard to understand why it would just quit working.

I switched to dev mode and received the following error message:

[User Error] Object::__call() Method 'insertimage' not found in class 'Form'
POST /admin/EditorToolbar/ImageForm

Line 133 in /home/mavacati/public_html/sapphire/core/Object.php
Source
124
125          } else if($config['function_str']) {
126             $function = Object::$extraMethods[$this->class][strtolower($methodName)]['function'] = create_function('$obj, $args', $config['function_str']);
127             return $function($this, $args);
128
129          } else {
130             user_error("Object::__call() Method '$methodName' in class '$this->class' an invalid format: " . var_export(Object::$extraMethods[$this->class][$methodName],true), E_USER_ERROR);
131          }
132       } else {
133          user_error("Object::__call() Method '$methodName' not found in class '$this->class'", E_USER_ERROR);
134       }
135    }
136
137    /**
138 * This function allows you to overload class creation methods, so certain classes are
139 * always created correctly over your system.
Trace
Object::__call() Method 'insertimage' not found in class 'Form'
Line 133 of Object.php
Object->__call(insertimage,Array)
Form->insertimage(Array,Form,HTTPRequest)
Line 232 of Form.php
Form->httpSubmission(HTTPRequest)
Line 107 of RequestHandler.php
RequestHandler->handleRequest(HTTPRequest)
Line 121 of RequestHandler.php
RequestHandler->handleRequest(HTTPRequest)
Line 121 of RequestHandler.php
RequestHandler->handleRequest(HTTPRequest)
Line 122 of Controller.php
Controller->handleRequest(HTTPRequest)
Line 262 of Director.php
Director::handleRequest(HTTPRequest,Session)
Line 106 of Director.php
Director::direct(admin/EditorToolbar/ImageForm)
Line 115 of main.php

Any help is appreciated!

Posted to: Error when inserting image Show Thread | Post Reply

I'm not going to elaborate on the reasons why (who cares anyway).

To add new fields to pages, you edit your Page-Class (add the fields to the $db array) or Subclasses thereof.
All this stuff is basically covered in Tutorial 1 and 2, so you're probably best of starting there:
http://doc.silverstripe.org/doku.php?id=tutorials

Posted to: Tiny MCE Javascript Code Stripping Out..
