I am not able to select pictures to insert in posts

7 October 2010 at 9:51pm
Hi,
I'm trying to insert images into my posts. When I open the "Pictures" box, I can select a folder from my assets folder, but I do not see thumbnails. Also, I do not see a "No pictures found" message. It's just like the entire picture section is missing.
I'm using a clean SS 2.4.2 installation with the DataObjectManager and Uploadify modules installed. Also, I've adjusted the Page type so that I can display widgets outside the blog as described on http://doc.silverstripe.org/widgets.
I have another SS 2.4.2 site with the same modules installed (additionally the Blog module) without the customization of the Page type - everything works fine there.
I'm desperate! Thanks for any advice.

Any word on a solution? Having the same issue on my live site (Ubuntu server). No problems on the dev site.
Thumbnails do show when I upload an image to the selected gallery folder. Just not on the initial load. -

I have almost the same problem. IIS server with 2.4.2. I've tried this fix maybe it will help you Balu. http://www.silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/11774?start=40 I'd read the whole thing if I were you.
I tried the changes suggested here:http://open.silverstripe.org/attachment/ticket/5547/2.4.0-FileUpload.diff with no luck.
I tried the suggestion here:http://www.silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/7321 also with no luck.
I can see the thumbnail because I pushed inheritable rights AND I CAN RESIZE THE IMAGE BY EVEN 1PX AND IT WORKS but the original just will not.
I can go give rights to the webuser... on IIS it's IIS_IUSERS group. It seems to be that SS doesn't give the correct rights on the file (image) to your web user.
I hope this helps to find the answer.
