How to allow direct link to uploaded files?

Hi,
How do I allow direct access uploaded images/files? A
s it is now, I recive a "You don't have permission to access /assets/Uploads/SilverStripe-CMS.png on this server." when I do this. -

Make sure your the directory on the server has correct permissions (777) which allows read/write access to all. or security reasons only do this for the Assets folder and all it subfolders.
