limiting member login access to one at a time

hi, has anyone else successfully customised the cms to limit member login access to one at a time?
with the current member login, it is possible for multiple users to login using the same username/password at the same time. however one of our clients would like it so that if a username/password is already in use, anyone trying to login with the same details will receive an error message.
