I posted about this a few months ago but am now having the same problem again. My hosting control panel is accessed at /admin and so I can't access the silverstripe admin. I fixed this by edited /cms/_config.php in the Director:addRules function by changing it to siteadmin.
I have now updated my site to 2.3.1 and this no longer works. Can anyone help me with what to change to get this working?

Thanks

Hi Android08,

did you change your .htaccess?

Best regards,

No. it should be just the same as it was when I installed silverstripe.

Is it possible that this can be changed? I can't do anything with my site because I can't access the admin pages.

I have the same problem. Any updates?

Changing the string in cms/_config.php doesn't do anything with 2.3.2

I've also run across this problem with a new client site.

I found this in the forums, but it's very old. - http://www.silverstripe.org/archive/show/7795

I know you can temporarily access it by going to domain.com/cmsmain/ but the 'site content' link who update.

Has there been any changes or a more official method to pull this off? I'd rather not hack the core, to make upgrades more seamless.

At the moment you can't. See this ticket:

Ingo indicated it will be in place for 2.4 :-)

Sounds good.

Luckily for me, this client site is pretty static and I'll be the only one running updates, so I can just use /cmsmain for now.

Thanks for the heads up.
