asset admin permissions per folder

Hi, I have tried the securefiles module, which does a great job at securing public files, but I would also like to disallow some folders in the aasset admin while allowing tohers specifically for users
is this possible ? I have started working on the folder list tree generation but the canView function does not take arguments, or am I thinking the wrong way
