reinstalled xampp on local pc and downloaded the latest Silverstripe(2.43) and installed it all ok.
Downloaded latest modules of image gallery, dataobject manager and uploadify and installed them with /dev/build.
Created an `imagegallery page` to create a photo gallery and in the configuration I get this show up instead of `add item`

in albums.....<% sprintf(_t('DataObjectManager.ADDITEM','Add %s',PR_MEDIUM,'Add [name]'),an Album) %>
in photos ....<% sprintf(_t('DataObjectManager.ADDITEM','Add %s',PR_MEDIUM,'Add [name]'),images to "Portraits") %>

although it still opens the add item box.
after `save and publish ` and click on `published site` I get this where `albums should be

<% sprintf(_t('ALBUMSINGALLERY','Albums in %s'),Photo Gallery) %>

I have found similar posts here and generally updating seems to clear it up, I have the latest versions already.

Any ideas please
