EventCalendar: UpcomingEvents/RecentEvents and ShowInMenus=0 (not showing)

I'm using the latest release of EventCalendar (Rev 127) and SilverStripe 2.4. I've created some CalendarEvents and they are showing up as UpcomingEvents and RecentEvents as they should. Because these events are children of my main-calendar, they are shown up in the mainmenu (children are showed on hover). As I don't want every event to be shown there, I unchecked "ShowInMenus" for all events (I'd also like to do this by default with static $defaults when it's working correctly).
If I do so, the events are also hidden on my "RecentEvents" and "UpcomingEvents"-Page (UpcomingEvents on Main-Calendar doesn't show them either). I searched the code for some checking of "ShowInMenus" but there's nothing, can "DataObject::get()" be the problem?Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that. I've updated the Calendar page to use AllChildren() instead of Children().
