Issues with file uploading

Installed DataObjectManager and went to files section, said I needed Uploadify.

Installed Uploadify, went back to files section, clicked "Add Resource" button to get the popup to upload files.

the "Upload File" button was actually appearing under the "Browse" field...not a big deal, modified the CSS to push it out so it's visible.

However, nothing happens when I click that "Upload File" button after I've browsed for a file. Nothing is ever getting added to the assets and nothing is uploading.

Anyone know what is causing this? I get this issue with both the 2.3 and 2.4 branch. Have tried clean installs with no modules but the DataObjectManager and Uploadify installed.
