Image Gallery - Folders Access

Using SS2.4.5 for last few months. Quite pleased with the system and the availability of the modules especially all the hard work by UncleChesse.
Coming back to the point, it is regarding the Image Gallery - Module. Works fine no problem at all, but it stops working when you tamper with the "Files & Images" -> "Image Gallery" folders i.e. manually adding and deleting the images.
Is there any way where access can be denied to the "Files & Images" -> "Image Gallery" folders so that nobody can tamper with these folders?
