Show resources from inside a child page

I'm trying out the FileDataObjectManager but ran into a problem. In the CMS I created a page called 'project01' [page-type: Resource Page] as a child of the (root) page 'projects' [page-type: Page]. Now when I point to projects/project01 this page loads the template 'Page.ss' and not 'ResourcePage.ss'.
But when I drag 'project01' one level up (root) the right template is loaded and the Resources(files) are showing. What am I missing here? Thanks! -

what do you mean by 'point to'. if you're trying to navigate to http://www.website.com/projects/project01/ then that is displaying the projects page, and that has page-type: Page as you said. if you goto http://www.website.com/project01/ it'll display the child page, the cms hierarchy doesn't follow through to url's in silverstripe.
