Enable translation?

I have tried to enable swedish translation for my e-commerce module but it doesnt seem to work.
Any solution on how I should do?
I followed the silverstripe documentation and added i18n::set_locale('sv_SE'); to the _config.php file.
I'm using Silverstripe 2.3.3 with e-commerce 0.5.4
