Custom ways to Add to Cart

I'm looking to be able to do a few things, and I haven't had any luck in figuring out how to do it myself.
- 'Add to Cart' Without redirecting you to the cart. Either through ajax, or even just reloading the current page.
- Add Several items to the cart. Something like creating a check box next to each product, check the ones you want, submit and have it add just those ones.Anyone have any ideas how I could go about doing this ?
