Editing sidebars

Hi there. I'm trying to remove the Products sidebar on the ecommerce pages as there are only 2 products available for sale on the site. I have tried editing templates/includes/ProductMenu.ss but no matter what I do - add or delete - none of the changes show on the ecommerce pages.
In fact, if I delete the entire file templates/includes/ProductMenu.ss, nothing happens - the page looks exactly the same whether I delete the file or not! What the hell is going on?!
Some help/direction would be gratefully received!

Okay, it was a really stupid mistake but I had forgotten how to update templates. Basically, I had forgotten to ?flush=all when changing templates.
