Modify the page menu with product code in title tags.

Hi All,
My client had a really weird request which I'm not even sure can be done? Hopefully some one has come across this or can point me in the right direction.
They would like to see their product code as you hover over the Page name in the silverstripe admin menu/sitetree. It currently shows title="Page Type: Product"
But they would like to show the product code which is currently in the custom product field `InternalItemID`
I am using SS 2.4.1 on LAMP and am using the ecommerce module for the products.

This is actually a pretty cool idea, but I am not sure how to do it. I suspect it would involve a bit of a hack of the CMS code.
