Order History and Reports in Admin Interface

Hi. I am looking at modifying the ecommerce for a site. I am not clear on two things - maybe someone can send me links to online documentation?
1. Is the order history in the logged in user's account page dynamically created, if so how? Can the admin clear these? Users don;t seem to be able to cancel an order once placed...
2. In the demo I tried clicking on reports - all orders and current orders, but these just spun forever. Are these where the admin can look at the orders that were placed? What tables store the orders?
I see there is a paper book available - does this cover ecommerce too?
