Display validation messages on top of form instead of beneath field

Silverstripes default behaviour of placing the validation messages beneath the formfields just messes up my form so i want to be able to put them in a list above the form. Is this possible? Anyone have done this before?
I'm talking about the serverside validation here, the clientside is easy to take care of.
