email form not working

I have SS 2.2.2 and the forms used to send all the info on the forms to the email that I choosed. But for some reason the email are not going thru now. I don't know where should I start looking to fix this problem, since there is no interface to set up the emails ((http://doc.silverstripe.org/doku.php?id=configuration). So what things should I try to fix this problem? I would preffer to keep using SS 2.2.2 since the 2.3 version doesn't have the user-form option. And for some reason sometimes the form don't work.

- You can upgrade to the latest version. All you need to do is make sure to download and install the (now) separate user-forms module.
- Did you check the mail-capabilities of the server ? Just run a simple PHP script to make sure the server is set up to send outgoing mail.
